The Square Mile - Conference Factoid:
The City of London is the historic core of London around which today’s modern metropolis grew. The City’s boundaries have remained almost constant since the Middle Ages. It is often referred to as “the Square Mile,” as it is just over one square mile (1.12 sq mi / 2.90 sq km) in area.
This year’s conference venue, the Grange City Hotel, lies within the Square Mile, and sits adjacent to one of the largest remaining fragments of the London Wall, built by the Romans from the 2nd to 4th century to defend Londonium, their strategically important port.
